Meet the Counselors Part 5

Meet Chandler, Christina, Sarah, Omer and Alexa:

Hello everyone!! My Chandler.JPGname is Chandler, and I live in Muskegon, Michigan. I go to Reeths-Puffer-Puffer right now, and I’m looking to go to Central Michigan to later become a teacher! I first came to camp on a school field trip and came back for summer camp four years ago. I was on the summer staff last summer, and this will be my second year as a camp counselor. I like to do anything outdoors, and I especially love playing soccer! What makes camp so amazing is that I get to do all of the things I love to do in such an outstanding environment!! I think thing that I’m most excited for about the summer is to see familiar faces as well as any new people coming to experience a week at one of the greatest places they will ever be. I can’t wait to kick off the summer!!!

Screen Shot 2017-05-21 at 3.01.58 PM.pngHowdy campers! My name is Christina, and that’s my “mane” man Winston in the picture with me.  If you’re in Ropers and Wranglers, you’ll be seeing a lot of this duo around this summer – we’re both coming to camp! This will be our 2nd year!  We’re from Muskegon, where I am the local math superhero (Wonder Wilson) at Beach Elementary School in Fruitport, and Winston is my sidekick and head of his Halflinger herd at De Boerderij (my family’s farm – pronounced Deh Bore-duh-rye).  In addition to spending a lot of time with Winston, I enjoy reading, doing crafts, and gardening.  In addition to spending a lot of time eating, Winston enjoys more eating…apples, carrots, peppermints, pretty much anything edible.  I am really excited to spend all summer at camp hanging out at the barn and bringing out a little bit of the rodeo in everyone, and Winston is looking forward to searching your pockets for any hidden morsels!  We can’t wait!
IMG_2802 (1).PNGMy name is Sarah! I am 21 years old. I am from Newaygo, I went to newaygo high school and graduated in 2013. I attend Ferris State University for Secondary Education, with a major in social studies and a minor in math! I enjoy being outdoors, and being around kids/people! I am a first year counselor here! I look forward to what the summer brings! And the experiences along with it!  I’m an outgoing person! I always look for the best in people. I enjoy being active and interacting with people. I love being outdoors! I am a sports fan and enjoy just about every activity there is! I coached an 8th grade basketball team for two years before moving away to college. (Probably one of the biggest learning experiences for me! A great one!)  I love camp! I attended camp growing up and I loved the atmosphere of it! Meeting new people, being outdoors, trying new activities! It’s all around a great experience and I can’t wait to be part of it for the whole summer!

Hi! My name is Omer. I am going to be a sophomore computer science student at the University of Missouri in Columbia. I am from the St. Louis area but I’m looking forward to spending my summer in Michigan in the outdoors. In my free time I like to play soccer and spend time with my friends and family. I hope to make many friends and meet a lot of new people as a first year counselor this summer!

image1.jpegHey friends! My name is Alexa, and this will be my 3rd summer at Pendy. This fall I’ll be a junior and attending Northern Michigan University for outdoor recreation. Over the past summers, Pendalouan has become my home! I can’t wait to go back and see everyone (old and new)! I love spending time hanging around at the ropes course, and you’ll always ‘sea’ me life guarding during waterfront! It’s going to be such a great summer; I can’t wait to see you there!!
